Sign in safely with two-factor login

Two-factor login means signing in needs two things: your password, and a 6-digit code from your phone. Someone who learns your password still cannot get in.

Who needs it. Two-factor login is required for the owner of a business account: NairaHQ asks you to set it up before you can open your workspace.

Set it up

  1. Install an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Both are free.
  2. Authenticator app setup, with the QR code marked. The QR code and the manual setup key are blurred. Under Authenticator app setup, open the app, add an account and scan the QR code. If you cannot scan it, type the Manual setup key into the app instead.
  3. The 6-digit code box and the Confirm and enable 2FA button, marked. The QR code and key are blurred. Type the 6-digit code the app shows into Enter 6-digit authenticator code and click Confirm and enable 2FA. The code changes every 30 seconds; if it is refused, type the next one.
  4. Your recovery codes, blurred, with the Copy codes button marked. Click Copy codes and save your 8 recovery codes somewhere safe and away from your phone, such as a password manager or a printed page. Each code works once, and they are not shown again.

Sign in afterwards

  1. Welcome back, with the Sign in button marked. On Welcome back, enter your Email address and Password and click Sign in.
  2. Two-factor verification, with the code box marked. On Two-factor verification, type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Verify and continue.
  3. Two-factor verification, with Remember this device for 30 days marked. On your own phone or computer, tick Remember this device for 30 days and you will not be asked for a code on it for 30 days. Leave it unticked on a shared computer.
  4. Phone not with you? Click Send verification code to email: we email you a 6-digit code that works for 10 minutes. You can also type one of your recovery codes into the same box.

New phone, or think someone has your code?

  1. Two-factor authentication for an account that has it, with the box for regenerating the authenticator marked. Click your name at the top right, choose Profile settings and, under Security, click Two-factor authentication. Open Switching devices, or think it's been compromised? Regenerate your authenticator, enter your current 6-digit code and click Regenerate authenticator. Then scan the new QR code, confirm, and save your new recovery codes.
